VISION: What does the CCA want to achieve?
To develop students who have a strong passion in sports and are life-long learners, driven by a strong sense of purpose & responsibility and guided by core values.
MISSION: What does the CCA set out to do?
To inculcate a strong passion for the sport and to develop the students holistically.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the time the students leave the CCA, what characteristics do they exhibit?
To be able to understand the basic rules of the game and be able to perform necessary skills such as service, receiving and spiking at a competent level.
To develop themselves as team players to achieve a common goal.
To develop a keen sense of sportsmanship and instil school values eg resilience, integrity, commitment and care.
LEARNING INDICATORS: How do we know our students have learnt?
Performances during trainings and competitions.
2 Performances in the running of key events e.g. CCA Bonding Session / VIA / School Open House etc.
Participating in service-Learning Projects e.g. Learn-to-Play Programs etc.
CCA-specific skills they can perform
Basic technical skills e.g. dig, set, spike.
Ability to play a proper 6 v 6 game (with rotation).
CCA-specific knowledge they will acquire
Technical rules of the game.
Aspects of being a competitive student-athlete e.g. game preparation, safety awareness, looking after their bodies etc.
CCA-specific attitudes they will form
Commitment and resilience.
Being a strong team player / teammate.
Having a growth mindset.
Developing a strong empathy for others.
